2009-07-22 Bull Alley, D8

Here a contraflow cycle lane has been provided on the one-way Bull Alley off Patrick St. in Dublin 8. This is great. However, as you can see in the photo there is no way in to the lane from Patrick St.

The Quality Bus Network Office put out a proposal to put a bus/cycle lane along Patrick St in March 2009. See our response. Unfortunately this problem was neither spotted or addressed. See the extract from the plan below. Designers are supposed to cycle the routes of proposed cycle facilities and ensure that they properly connect with all side streets. If this was done in practice this would not be missed.
