Keep our Bus Gate Open

Dublin City Council are meeting on Monday 2nd of November to decide whether to keep the College Green Bus Gate or get rid of it in the afternoon during Operation Freeflow.

MINISTER FOR Transport Noel Dempsey has voiced disapproval of Dublin City Council’s plans to scale back the College Green “bus gate” to appease city business interests.

Someone left these flyers on all the bikes at the top of Grafton St. They obviously thing that the way to get traffic free routes is by spreading car-dependent sprawl all over the country.

Ireland's National Cycle Policy Framework was launched in April 2009. 

On page 18 it states that there is a need for "learning from examples of QBC/cycle designs in which the route is not perceived to be cycle-friendly."

A CYCLIST is fighting for his life after being hit by a Dublin Bus wing mirror prompting claims that the company has continually been warned by drivers of their potential danger.

The victim, a cleaner at Beaumont Hospital believed to be a 37-year-old Polish man, was hit on his way home from work on the Artane Road earlier this month.

City council to increase capacity of bike stations - Irish Times

DUBLIN CITY Council is to increase the capacity of its Dublinbikes rental stations in the coming weeks because of the huge popularity of the scheme.

The council also has longer-term plans to introduce new station locations and increase the number of bikes available to users.
